Earth Science

Geology In A Bucket
Geology courses in a bucket! These unique experiences provide students the opportunity to dig into a portion of authentic gem-bearing gravel in search for minerals like rubies, sapphires, turquoise and more! The "Geology In A Bucket" program also introduces an in-depth study into rock formation and testing techniques. Students will act as if they are actually on a geology fieldtrip. more...

Fossil Sleuths
Fun filled, hands-on paleontology experiences! Students will act as if they are actually on a paleontology excavation. Students transform into Paleontologists in this one-of-a-kind field trip. No where else is such an experience possible (except in actual phosphate mines or fossil beds!). more...

Amazing Oceans
A touch of the ocean & beach at your own school! A unique opportunity for students to see, feel and smell the ocean & beach in their own classroom! "Beach Keepers" & "Marine Biologists" will see and feel for themselves what a complex habitat the ocean and dynamic zone the beach really are and needs to remain! Our theme of marine preservation and wise management will encourage all to keep a keen eye on the future of this salty scene! more...

Endangered Ecosystems
A unique opportunity for students to observe, classify and analyze endangered ecosystems like the wetlands, beaches, forests and deserts – all which are found here in the US! Students become "Wildlife  Managers“ who search for food chains within complex food webs, test natural waters for sources of pollution and contamination, reconstruct a fragmented ecosystem and make decisions which may affect life on earth. more...

Everglades Reach
A unique opportunity for students to see, feel and smell the Everglades in their own classroom! We turn your students into wildlife biologists who search for critters among the 'glades grasses. They'll meet the reptile cousins, touch a real 'gator skull, smell the peat, see what an owl ate for dinner and much more! Stories and legends about the Pahayokee will thrill and fascinate all who hear! Students will relate to the Everglades as more than a fishing place or where danger lies. Wildlife Biologists will have first-hand experience with the 'glades that will open their eyes to the real treasures that we depend on to survive in Florida. They will be our future "Glades Guardians". more...

Remarkable Reptile
Herpetologists have an opportunity to explore the class of Reptilia and those specific to what can be found here in Florida. They discuss the history and characteristics that make reptiles unique from the other classes of animals. more...

Cool Comets
A unique opportunity for students to create a comet! Find out first-hand about these mysterious intergalactic bodies, or as some call them...dirty snowballs. We turn your students into Astronomers who visit the Oort Cloud to better understand how a comet is created! What better way to understand comet behavior than a true hands-on experience! more...

Rocket Rally

Teams of rocket engineers build model rockets as we bring the Kennedy Space Center to your classroom. As a team they learn real procedures just as it is done at NASA as well as discover how Newton's Laws of motion are applied in rocket flight.  These are great experiences for a group of aspiring "Rocketeers" who would like to become part of the space age. Get ready for blast off! more...

Weather Watch
An exciting experience with meteorology! An opportunity for young "meteorologists" to use genuine weather equipment to collect & analyze data, then forecast the weather! Meteorologists will be "blown away" by the practices to predict weather. They can then apply the knowledge they've learned to better understand Florida's weather patterns as well as unwanted hurricanes. more...

Coastal Exploration
Come share a day at the beach with us and discover that there is much more to our coastline than just a place to catch some rays! Our site location is a unique spot along the coastline of Broward County as it is a truly living beach in John U. Lloyd State Park. The golden sands are not just a place for tourists, but a place for discovery and appreciation of the environment around us. Students are immersed into a hands-on investigation of exploring the dynamic beach/ocean ecosystem. No two days are ever the same as the wind, waves, and tides constantly shape and change the shoreline and what can be discovered along it in our living classroom. Our goal is to have each child realize the difference they can make in the environment by the choices they consider and the impacts each can have on our coastline beaches of Florida. more...

Everglades Experience
The Everglades...The River of Grass… The Pahayokee... A Biosphere Reserve… Florida's unique natural treasure and the only ecosystem of its kind on the planet! The survival of the Earth depends, in part, on the level of environmental awareness we develop in our children and maintain in ourselves. The potential for change is unlimited if we develop in our children an awareness and appreciation for our natural environment. We believe that this increased awareness in environmental perception and pleasure is most effective when discovered while actually in the ecosystem itself. Come and experience this unique treasure with us on our unforgettable trip into the once mystical "river of grass". more...
